HDMI 2.0: What You Need to Know

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSS Laid back week this week. Finally tested out my Google Glass with the band – the packing tape over the power button seems to be working! We’ll see what happens over the next couple weeks, although its getting colder here (a actually had to pull out a jacket today!) Last nights’ TWIGG was an awesome show – next week we will be bringing on a guest and talk about Glass in healthcare. Day in Tech History’s 1,500th episode went out today. 365 episodes a day since Aug 10, 2009. Also continued to be attacked by brute force attackers. Had to increase security. A new website is in the works for podcasters. Something I have been thinking about since June. It will help bring a little more validity to shows. Jeff Powers clean shaven

New Look for Jeffrey Powers at Geekazine

3 years ago I chose to grow my goatee out. It was going to be for a promotion that never happened (the promoter chose not to do it). Since then, I decided to grow out the goatee. It was not the first time I did that but this was the first time I let it grow this long. Now, #3YearsInTheMaking – I decided to make the change. I took off the excess and my goatee was back to a normal length. I was fine with that until… Jennifer said “I’ve never seen you clean shaven”. I thought to myself – I went this far, I can do the rest. So I shaved it all off. I figure it’ll grow back in a couple weeks. Why not give her this look now? What Happens from Here? It’s possible I’ll grow it out again. Probably not to the length I...

Category Change: Special Media Feed

Category Change: Special Media Feed

In the last 24 hours, I have been cleaning up the categories. The CES 2009 and 2010, HPTF and HP Road show, along with other special media categories have been grouped into one Special media feed. In the next couple weeks, each post will be cleaned up as to properly be fed through any media player, including the RSS feeds. Future video, CES 2011, Blogworld, HPTF 2010, will work through this feed. More cleanup will be forthcoming…

5 Ways for Responsible fourSquare-ing, Gowilla-ing

5 Ways for Responsible fourSquare-ing, Gowilla-ing

I am using the foursquare application on my iPhone. Been doing that for a couple weeks now. I am the mayor of a few locations and know where my friends are. But then again, I know where my friends are. In this world of connection, we need to look at this data overflow and who gets to see it. You never want to walk in the house and find out the TV, computer and other valuables are gone. Yet, these new fandangled items really can let theives know when it’s time to strike. If someone knows you are at the restaurant, friends can find you, but so can others. Therefore, I offer 5 simple ways to make sure you are safer and still use these fun programs like foursquare or Gowilla – as well as the upcoming Facebook application that will also divulge your location. Delay your post You...

For the last year and a half, the Quickcast has been running a podcast every Monday reviewing the past history of Technology. The show has been a fun one, but for the last couple months I felt it needs it’s own space. Therefore, WITH will be spinning off into the Day in Tech History – a Daily look at the Historical events in Technology. WITH will continue on. For the first couple weeks, we will continue with the same format. Afterwards, WITH will take a new shape, highlighting one historical event and how it plays on events today. It should be a new, powerfully informative look in the IT industry. Information for this weeks’ WITH: Smithsonian is established Netscape Lawyers send a letter about Microsoft...

Podcasts in Madison WI – Interview from the Isthmus

Podcasts in Madison WI – Interview from the Isthmus

A couple weeks ago I was interviewed by Rich Albertoni for the Isthmus. It was for the article: Plugged In: In music and spoken word, local culture is embracing the podcast era. The article came out today in the Isthmus – which is a tabliod style magazine that comes out weekly in the Madison area. In it, Rich talks with a good friend of mine in Mike Huberty of Sunspot about how and why they podcast. Other casts included were: The Partially Examined Life Kim and Jason Higher Ground Mad Toast Live No, THIS Is What I Call Music Elimination of the Snakes It was a great time talking with Rich. I wished he would have used more content from our discussion, including the name of the Monthly meeting – the Madison Podcasters Group – part of the group Web608, along with what Geekazine really does, but with...

Ramblings 12-20-08

Ramblings 12-20-08

I am writing this while watching and listening to the 24 hour podcast. This is the 2nd annual show where Todd stays up a full 24 hours talking with others. I have already been on the show with questions throughout the day. I will be with Andy McCaskey talking CES at about 8 PM EST. This week I broke down and went to the Doctor. We found out that it was Bronchitis and I got the appropriate medication to resolve the cough. Everything has gotten a lot better except for the hearing. The ears are so plugged up I figure I have about 25-30% loss. The Doctor says it will subside.
