Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSSince I use Wirecast and Vegas 14, I needed a good program to create titles and lower 3rds for my videos. Two years ago I was introduced to NewBlueFX and Titler Pro software. This has completely changed how I have created content online. I’ve been using their newest version – Titler Pro 5 – for a while now. The first couple revisions had some bugs to them, but once they got straightened out, I was able to use without issue. I loaded up on my main desktop, along with my travel laptop to create videos for CES, NAIAS, and NAMM. What is Titler Pro 5? This is stand alone software that can create and edit titles, lower 3rds, and other graphics for your videos. You can make a title from scratch, or simply use one of the templates to build upon....

360fly Review Right From the 360 Video Camera

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSI’ve been having an awesome time with figuring out 360 video. That is why I decided to create this review in 360 video view. Now if you are watching this from my podcast channels, you might be seeing this crunched down. To view it in the intended version, you either will have to download 360 viewing software or go to Youtube.com/geekazine and watch it there. The hardware I am using is 360fly. This is a 360 half-spherical camera. What does that mean? Well even though you get a 360 degree view in the middle, either the top or the bottom does not get recorded because there is no optics on one side. The top or bottom recording is all dependant on how you set up the camera. I have the 360 fly set up to point down. This makes it a...

Body Media Patch Monitors for Seven Days – DEMO 2012 [Video]

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSWe have talked with Body Media at CES. They have an ingenious monitor that you use to track your vitals. Now, they are showing off a patch you wear on your arm for seven days to find out how you are sweating, and how you are sleeping. The new patch looks like the side of a shoe. You adhere it to your triceps, then work, sleep, shower, and whatever you do, for the next seven days. When done, download the information into the computer. This patch will not only monitor your activity levels, it will also monitor the sweat and how you sleep. Of course, that can tell your doctor if you get the right amount of sleep in an evening. TrustGo Scans Mobile Apps for Malware, Mobile Phishing – DEMO 2012 [Video]

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSI download apps all the time to review. You might download apps to play games, or just for utilities. But some of those apps might be doing more than just turning your phone into a flashlight. They might be malware, or they could be taking more personal information than you know. That is where TrustGo comes in. They look at the apps, then let you know if this app is safe to download. For Android (working on iOS), you install this app, then let it scan other apps that download. This is technically not anti-virus, because TrustGo does a lot more. In this day and age, malware is only one threat. TrustGo is available now for you to download.

Firesheep: Security Exploit as Firefox Plugin

Firesheep: Security Exploit as Firefox Plugin

Now anyone can have L33t HaX0r skilz. A Firefox extension called “Firesheep” automates hacking your wi-fi connection if you are using public wi-fi. Here’s an excerpt from the Guardian’s report: Firesheep, though, has an easy-to-use interface and, perhaps most importantly, a cute name. Surely this can’t be a “cracking tool”? It wasn’t released by someone going by a name like ‘dEvILSp0RN42’. It doesn’t feature white text on a black background. It has well-thought-out and literate documentation. To use it, you simply install it into Firefox and click a few buttons. One minor additional step, installing WinPcap, is required for Windows users. You can watch a demo on YouTube (I was unable to embed the video).
