SleepPhones is a Headband with Headphones – CES 2015

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSSometimes I put in earbuds to fall asleep to. They are uncomfortable and harder to get in a relaxing position. Big headphones are also bulky and hard to work with. That is where SleepPhones comes in. Dubbed “Pajamas for your ears”, SleepPhones are a headband with headphones inside. They don’t go in the ear and they are not big and bulky. You simply put the headband on, turn on the music and sleep. Or run. Or take it on the plane with you. SleepPhones come in different fabrics for your need. They are machine washable (take out the headphones first) and come with a 1 year warranty. CES 2015 INNOVATION: The company also put out a conductive charger system. They look like decorative pieces and they sit on your nightstand like a lamp. When you are done, dock the headphones up...

Rent this Dress Using Style Lend – Disrupt 2014

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSWomen lend clothing all the time. Shirts, pants, and even dresses. Of course if a dress is around $1,000, they probably don’t want to part with it. That is where Style Lend comes in – Rent those expensive dresses for the gala event. Let’s say you want something from Parker, BCBG, Tadashi, Alexander Wang, Sans Souci, Lucca Couture, or anything with a larger price tag. Only thing is you want it for one night – Prom, awards ceremony, or special night on the town. If you can’t afford the high price, you can use StyleLend to rent it out for 10% of the actual price. I talk with Lona Alia Duncan about this disruption to the fashion industry. She noted several women who really needed a dress for one night. One in particular was Miss Hawaii – Moani – who needed...

I’m Watch : Worlds First Smart Watch – CES 2012

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSWhile we were at the Venetian, we ran into I’m Watch. They have the world’s first smart watch. Not an enclosure of an iPod, but an actual watch. This is a small, ergonomic watch, with a similar interface to a smart phone. In multiple colors, you can get a watch to match your fashion. You can make a call from the watch (paired to Bluetooth). You can do the “Dick Tracey” method, as there is a speaker and microphone on the match. The watch is a 240×240 on 1.54 inch screen. The watch has 64 MB or 128 MB of memory. You can store contact information, songs, or other programs. Battery life is around a day. I’m Watch was a CES Innovation award winner. I’m Watch starts at $329 (pre-order). There is an online market for apps, with an SDK already...

#BWE09 – the Blogworld Fatburger Challenge

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSI like a good burger. When I get a burger for free, I am all over that. That is, unless I am then turned into a Zombie. But I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soo…. uuuuhhhhh….. brainssssss….. Anyway – I participated in many events at Blogworld. One that was really fun to do was called the Fatburger Challenge. I have never had a Fatburger, so I was really stoked on this. 1/2 lb of meat on a bun with lettuce, tomato and all the fixins. I felt like this is a challenge for me. Therefore I signed up. It’s like I was the 12th grader competing in the 2nd grade spelling bee – I had no doubt I could finish this meal and still have room for more. Twelve of us sat at a table with all the social mediaites...

Quote the Geek – Nevermore – Bitstrips

It has been a long day. It all started yesterday when we began the process of moving a website to a different server so I could put up the new version of said site. All heck seemed to happen after that. We’ll leave the water heater out of this story, let’s just say I have taken 3 cold showers in the last 3 days. YAY! I have found I not only hit the limit on my website, I went WAYYYY past it. I had to remove 2/3rds of the podcasts just to get under quota. I am not sure what happened – but now I am on the hunt for a service to store the data. Once it finds a new home, I will make all adjustments. For now – Episodes 1-52 of the weekly podcast and the first 24 Quickcasts / 5 min show. are down. So...

Fakes on the Internet

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSS Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSS Fakes. Throughout time we’ve had to deal with those who want to pass something off as an original. Sometimes we are not fooled. Other times we go years thinking that it’s the real thing until some new technology tells us different. In the last week I’ve seen many fake photos of different items – most notably the Large GPS picture and Windows 7 screenshots. There is even a video out there that supposedly displays Windows 7 functionality. While impressive, it makes me wonder if someone is trying to pass these off to make a quick buck?
