How Verizon Half-Assed the iPhone 0

How Verizon Half-Assed the iPhone

So I was sitting in Houston, TX with Jake Luddington. I made this prediction (the night before the announcement) that the iPhone on Verizon was going to hit 40 million in the first 30-60 days. It was a stretch, but it was based on the masses who have been waiting patiently for the CDMA iphone, mixed with those 3GS, 3G and first gen iPhone users also biding their time. Jake said I was insane to make that prediction. That is because I thought Verizon would have at least the patience to wait for the iPhone 5 to come out. With the 4G service and Verizon network, I could see that population do a mass-exodus like no other phone would. But then Verizon had to go ruin it. Of course, we heard that Verizon is going to release the CDMA version of the iPhone4. You cannot do data on at...

Hypershop: External Batteries for Your iPhone and iPad in Hypermac Mini, Micro and Nano – CES 2010

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSS Running out of battery on your iPhone – and soon iPad – can become a pain. You just want to get that one thing done and – as Scotty would say – “I just don’t have enough power, captain”. If you are in an important college lecture or business meeting, for instance, and forgot to charge the device the night before, this can become a real nightmare. Enter in Hypershop. They have the Hypermac Mini, Hypermac micro and Hypermac nano to charge your different Apple devices. Todd Cochrane talks with Jennifer about these great products. The nano is the smallest and most impressive. With 1800mAh, you should be able to get about 2 charges out of this device that is as small as a lighter. Compared to a Mophie (1200mAh), the Hypermac Nano will charge faster and give you at least one...

5 Reasons Why People Won’t Want a Tablet 2

5 Reasons Why People Won’t Want a Tablet

The rumor mill for an Apple tablet has been going since June. Companies like OLPC and HTC are also talking about their own single piece device. However, I believe no matter what is said or done, people will end up not buying a tablet. In this article, I will give you 5 reasons why I believe this. This last year we have seen an interesting phenomenon happen. People gathering around the rumor mill to get the jump on a new product that Apple might be coming out with. We have seen rumors in the past not happen – the iPhone mini, the clamshell flip iPhone, camera on the iPod touch – However, this rumor seems to have some tread to it, simply because of some tangible evidence that the community has noticed. Domain names registered, receipts from 3rd party manufacturers received. Even some “friend of Steve Jobs told me so” comments....

I downloaded the SDK (Software Development Kit) the other day to play with Android. Although it’s not an HTC G1, it will definitely give me an idea of what to expect. I am hoping it will go on an older phone. We’ll see.

Apple iPhone 3G Update Still Doesn’t Fix – Woman Sues

Apple said it was an update. They applied the update and it didn’t fix the problem. Apple is still saying its about the update. Now a woman in Alabama sues Apple for false Advertisement. Jessica Alena Smith filed the lawsuit stating that the advertising said the iPhone 3G was suppose to double the speed of the original iPhone. There is no report of how much she’s suing for.

Pretty vs Functional. What do you look for? 0

Pretty vs Functional. What do you look for?

OK. So we don’t see 200+ lb women gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. We don’t see a Yugo on the cover of Hot Rod. How many would take Matthew Mcconaughey over Jack Black (I wouldn’t take either, but you know what I’m talking about)? We live in a world where sometimes form overtakes function. So when it comes to personal tech gadgets, we might just view it the same way. It doesn’t matter if the ugly device will do more for you than the sleek looking one. We purchase items on impulse. So do we accept because of looks even if the functionality is not there? [poll=8]
