Jenna talks about the first time she had to interview in the men’s lockeroom. An experience that she will never forget, but can really put a lesson learned twist to it. In any male sport, having a female invading could be intimidating. But Wolfe purveyed. She also talks about getting pregnant and having a baby with her spouse. The trials of pregnancy and staying in the workforce. Check out Part 1 with Chantel Lenard from Ford here. Starz and Netflix split, which means Starz needs to find a new OTT home. What if they chose Hulu? Better yet, what if they BOUGHT Hulu?
Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSThe second episode of the Techpodcast network from the NBC Universal stage went off without a hitch. Within the hour, we had some great guests from Sphero (a Ball controlled by iPhone), Sifteo (a block game), Bug Labs (4G modules), Telecare (care of diabetes), Sonomax (self fit custom earphones) and ZAGG (iPad case with keyboard). Join Andy McCaskey and Carissa O’brien as they talk to all guests during this hour. They have a lot of fun with all the guests as they watch balls run around the stage, getting earphones molded and even have someone throw their iPad on the ground. Yes, we said iPad thrown on the ground. Thanks to Audible for sponsoring GoDaddy services saves you money! New Customers Save 25% on Hosting at GoDaddy. Thanks to Luxor for sponsoring
Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSNBC Universal set up two stages this year. The first one was the stage we used last year and the second one was a big ping-pong ball shaped area that you would stand in the middle of. That is the stage we ended up using for show #1 – And it was pretty cool. Since the first show was on Friday, we had to wait until the folks at Bravo were done. A couple snafus and things were running a tad late on the main stage. We ended up using the 2nd stage where Todd Cochrane, Jeffrey Powers and Tom Newman interviewed folks from Ford, iRobot, Red, Anti Sleep Pilot and Clickfree. Even though there were time constraints, we still pulled off the quality shows you know us to do. We were even a little under the clock, for the batteries...
After a few weeks of hard work, we have our first sponsor on board. Luxor Hotel and Casino is a hotel on the strip of Las Vegas. You cannot miss it – It’s the pyramid on the strip. They even have a light on the top of the hotel if you get lost. The Luxor hosts live shows like Criss Angel, Carrot Top, Bodies… the Exhibition and Titanic – the Artifact Exhibition. Their restaurants include Tender steak and seafood, T&T (Taco’s and Tequilla) and the Backstage Deli. Of course, there is the casino, pool and spa, shopping experience and – as all Vegas casinos have – A wedding chapel. We at the Tech podcast network are happy to have the Luxor as a sponsor to the show content. Of course, more sponsors will be announced in the coming weeks. We also have spots available if you would like to join our...
Roku officially launched the Hulu Plus application. Sad news is you can only get Hulu on Roku if you pay $7.99 and that doesn’t limit the amount of commercials. Nonetheless, we are one step closer in cutting the proverbial cable cord. The service will hit other boxes like PS3 and XBox360 soon. “We are excited to bring Hulu Plus to all Roku users,” said Pete Distad, VP of Content Distribution for Hulu. “With Hulu Plus on Roku, TV fans will have an easy way to streamto their TVs the shows they love, whenever they want.” The $7.99 price change has given Netflix a run for their money. With a less than 24 hour turnaround for NBC, ABC and FOX content, you can definitely watch the shows when you want. On the other hand, Netflix doesn’t put commercials in movies and TV. The content is uncut and gives you...
For the 5th year, Todd Cochrane of Geek News Central, Andy McCaskey of SDRNews and myself will once again decend on the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to see what 2011 has in store. However, from the great response of our live stream event at NBC Universal stage, we have been working hard to put together a proposal to actually stream from the floor. The 10×20 booth has been approved. We will be putting together proposals for sponsors and getting gear together to push content as we see it. The floor interviews will still happen. We still have to uphold our quality content and give you an inside look to the coolest new gear. For those that might be working with a company that needs great exposure, let us know and we’ll show you how CES 2011 coverage can work to your advantage.
Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSMary Somers – a “Brand ambassador” of NBC Universal – had a New Years resolution to not eat junk food. One that she adheared to; until the Consumer Electronics Show stepped in. Jon Accarrino introduces us to Mary, in which she tells us why CES has ruined her resolution. The NBC Universal trailer was a great place to relax, rehydrate, re-fuel, get a few articles out and get back onto the show floor. They had 2 trailers – one for the tech of NBC, and the other as a “Green Room” for staff. We at Techpodcasts Network would like to thank our friends at NBC Universal for rolling out the “Peacock Carpet”. We truely felt like stars with them. Their hospitality will remain a real highlight in this years’ event.

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSDay three of the Consumer Electronics Show and I am happy of the day. The live show from NBC Universal drew 8500 people. Thanks to all who watched the show and remember – we will be back on the stage Sunday at noon. Andy had a small voice problem, so he did a limited amount of talking. We still went through some great products, but the product of the day was the WavIT – an iPhone remote control system. This device allows you to control any device like a remote for the iPhone. It’s not out yet – should be around in a few months. But when we used it, we created remotes, we used the presentation functions and a lot more. Of course, remember to put the phone in Airport mode when you present the device…

I went to Hulu this afternoon to catch up on my HEROES. I didn’t get to see it on Monday, so I knew that I could go up there and watch the show without issue. Or COULD I? Turns out Avast won’t have it. It is blocking the SWF from playing and saying “Malicious Code”. Tried a few times in Firefox and IE. Every show or movie I try to play comes up with the same thing. Here’s the kicker – neither Avast nor the Event viewer is showing any more info. In fact, it’s not even logging the event! Could this be a malicious code? Could it be that Avasts’ database is off? Maybe Hulu changed some stuff to thwart Boxee from going through the RSS backdoor? Well, there is a way around that. I went to NBC.com and watched the episode. I hope it’s not a...
Well I didn’t expect this to happen, but when we got to CES today, our first order of business was to interview Jon Accarrino with NBCUniversal. What turned out was not only the interview with Jon, but also Bill Hartnett. We talked about their little Blogger lounge and how NBC has contributed to this new media. Andy interviewed the event on the Primary channel, and I took Backchannel video coverage. The best part is the fact that Jon set me up with a station where I could not only upload the Video in High Speed, but also put up this Blog. Therefore, I am sitting in this comfortable chair connected to a real high speed pipe (300 MB Video was posted in no time flat). Sure beats the 170 minute upload at the Hotel.
Wow, What a day. After 3 days of Grunting the floor, it really catches up to you. I feel good, but at the same time I am completely exhausted. I’m sitting at CNTR STG here which is a Blogger’s port put on by HP. Since the bandwidth at the Monte Carlo is horrible, we have to do our uploads here. I suppose it’s good because this is the place where I’ve met my fellow bloggers. I did something a little different with the Back Channel as I used the X-shot to put the camera about 3 feet in the air. The result wasn’t too bad. I’ll try to get the video up ASAP, but I am still 2 days behind on that.
We started an hour early to talk about Heroes before the season premier. We talked with JoelD, who was in England and cannot see the show. The discussion then swung to getting US TV in the UK and visa – versa. Hour 2 we went right into the Android and what you can do with it. We talked about the Open Source license, the applications you can download for it and what devices you can install it on. Who will be the first to put Android on an iPhone? Hour 1 Hour 2

Veterans Day. The day where we remember the men and women who have fought for us and subsequently died for our freedom. From the Civil War to today, Americans have given their life for their country. We remember that, and we honor that. Technology and War are two things that go hand in hand. The newest advances will give the advantage swiftly and sometimes without prejudice. Whether it was the first Bomber Planes in WW1, the first use of mobile communications or the nuclear assault on Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945. Each advantage turns War into a new game. Whoever is on top of their technology game can turn a battle to their advantage. Remember the movie “Small Soldiers” (1998)? Action figures with a smart chip embedded in their systems start battling each other once activated. Today we have Robots that do things like disarm bombs and unmanned...
