Roli Blocks Makes Modular Music in Multiple Ways ???

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSLast year Roli came out with a keyboard that disrupted the musical instrument. This year, Roli doesn’t disappoint with Roli Blocks, a modular pad system that allows you to create beats, play loops, or even solo on songs. It’s an easy way to make music on your iOS device. Downloading the Roli App Noise is the first step in this system. The app is free and you can start working the pads right on the screen. Adding the modular pads will bring more functionality, turning the iPhone or iPad into another screen for multi-touch use. You can also connect the pads up to your favorite software for more functionality. At CES Unveiled, they were playing saxophone solos right from the pads. Roli Blocks main pad starts at $179, and additional blocks start at $79. You can get Blocks at your local Apple...

Vocalbooth – Portable Soundproof Rooms – NAB 2014

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSThere are many times I wish I had one of these. Not just for podcasting but for playing my drums or rocking out on my guitar. I stopped by Vocalbooth to learn more about sound booth technology. Its more than just putting up some eggshell foam into a room. I talked with Guy from Vocalbooth to learn more about these rooms you can put inside a room. The booth is made by the company where they put attention to detail. For instance: the door is probably the heaviest piece in the system but it also is the place where sound can escape or come in. During the interview I step out and in to show the difference. If the door was shut – you would definitely notice the sound difference. Vocalbooth makes rooms for everyone – including correctional facilities. They become...

TPN Weekly Guest spot: Recorded 100% from iPhone

This week I am the host of TPN Weekly and I created an interesting show. It is all done from my iPhone. Part from the headset, part from the mic right on the iPhone. I even record a section where I pull the audio from my podcast rig to the iPhone. I did it to show anyone that says “I don’t have time to record a podcast” or “I don’t have the equipment to record a podcast”. I even put out a challenge to those that want to put out a 10 show podcast. Check out the Podcast at Blog.techpodcasts.com:

Ramblings 6-28-09 – Where’d the Week Go?

Busy Week Thanks for coming to the site. We had another great week – busy week. It was a lot of fun and really productive. Post – HPTF Of course, we went to Vegas the week before to cover the HP Technology Forum Expo. Andy McCaskey, Kara Karsten and myself were working hard with interviews, product reviews and more. This week was planning to get some of the videos out to you. So far, we’ve posted the HP POD video on Friday and have a lot more coming soon. Summer of Podcasts – Podcast Carnivale This is what really took up the majority of the week. The last month I have been working hard in getting prizes together. Now it’s time to put a contest together. That is where the Summer of Podcasts comes in. Each week, Podcasters will be giving out codewords during their shows. We will...

Ramblings – 6-21-09 – Las Vegas

Day Off – Sort of A late Ramblings this week as I decided to stay offline last week. It was a long week and I was playing all weekend. It has been a while since I last took more than 24 hours off a computer, so that is a big feat for me. HP Tech Forum I had a fun time talking and working with Andy McCaskey and Kara Karsten with SDRNews. We had such a blast. We also put forward the mobile interview booth rig. We call it the “MacGyver” rig. Nonetheless, it was connected to uStream and we were able to conduct a few interviews for the event. Check out all the info on the Twitter log at #HPTF. Great to meet some new bloggers: Shane Pitman of Neowin, John Obeto of AbsoluteWindows. We had a great week along with Halley, Tom, Calvin and Rebecca from...

Hosting A Podcast – Madison Podcaster Group 3-03-09

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSWithin the second Podcast of the Madison Podcaster Group, we discuss hosting of a podcast or video cast. The biggest issue in hosting is bandwidth – since a podcast can get pretty large in size. Within, we talk about Amazon S3, Blubrry network, PodBean, Libsyn and many more services. For Video, we have YouTube, uStream, Mogolus and blip.tv. During the recording, a phone was a little close to the recording apparatus, in which some GSM noises came into play. While it is present at times, it does not interfere with the podcast. Chalk that one up to experience…. *Next Meeting – April 7th *

Set Up Your First Podcast – Madison Podcasters Group

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSI started a new group a couple months ago to not only get new podcasters interested, but also have existing podcasters get together and talk about different aspects. I decided that if it’s a meeting about Podcasting, it should be a podcast itself. Therefore, we recorded the first Madison Podcasters Group Podcast. I decided that since this isn’t really a centric item and there is a lot of good information, then it will be added to the Quickcast. It will also have it’s own group, too. The subject of the first podcast group – how easy it is to set up and make a podcast. We talk in general about setting up a mic to a computer and recording it, how much it’s going to cost you and how difficult it really is to set up a podcast. There is some great...

This Week In Tech History p1 10-06-08 – The Apple Falls

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSIt was Ocober 6th 1997 that CEO Gil Amelio was asked to leave. Many people wanted Steve Jobs to come back, however it was a concern that it wouldn’t be the right move at this time. Michael Dell went on record saying that Apple should shut it’s operation down. Today, even with the stock issue last week, Apple’s market cap is greater than Dell and even Google. Of course we have some great products out of the turnaround and eventual comeback of Jobs. All from a company that could have dissolved back in 1997 Hear about this and a bunch of cool stuff on Part I of This Week in Tech History.
