Could Kevin Rose make a good CEO at Microsoft?

Why Kevin Rose Should be the Next CEO of Microsoft

Today, Steve Ballmer announced he will be retiring in 12 months. This was set to a lot of mixed emotion. In this world of high technology, CEOs seem to have a good exit plan – Bill Gates had Ballmer in mind when he retired and Steve Jobs had Tim Cook. Ballmer has no one in mind (that we know of). This could start people worrying about Microsoft’s direction. What Microsoft needs is s thinker. An innovator. Someone that will understand the corporate and consumer ends of technology. That is why I think Kevin Rose should be the next CEO of Microsoft. Why Kevin Rose as CEO of Microsoft? Kevin started early – creating Revision 3, Digg, Pownce and Milk. He has invested in ventures such as Gowalla, Twitter, Foursquare, OMGPOP, Square, Facebook, Chomp and Formspring. Rose took his company Milk and pretty much turned it into Google Ventures where he gets 300 million a year...

DigGoogle – What Google Can Gain if They Buy Digg

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSS Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSDigg grew to a powerhouse site in a very short time. The Popular News Aggregator service continues to be a great place for people to not only read news, but also contribute to what they think is news. Alexa reports that Digg has been fluctuating around the top 100 to 150 sites being viewed. 52.5% of those viewers are in the US. The rumor mill is stirring up again that Google has put interest in buying Digg. TechCrunch reports that the “Rumor” is Digg will be selling for $200 million although CEO Jay Adelson denies it. Will this be a good deal for Digg, or can they grow and survive on their own? Digg started in 2004 by Kevin Rose, Own Byrne, Ron Gorodetzky and Jay Adelson. The idea was to aggregate news items and...

Fark vs. Digg – The fight of the Century.

A few weeks back, Fark.com posted an article pointing to Digg.com. The article was a Digg that pointed to Fark. Infinite recursion and Duke still sucks (You have to be a real Farker to understand that one).

Weekly Roundup 1 – Will Android beat Godzilla, Mothra?

I am reminded of the old Godzilla movies when I hear “Android”. But in all reality, this is not much different. We just don’t see a cardboard city get demolished by 3 guys dressed in costumes. Google has given themselves not only a humungous undertaking in aquiring Android, but also a new buzzword that has been passed back and forth many times in the last few weeks. Since it’s silent aquisition back in August, the news has been anything but ‘quiet’. Companies getting on the bandwagon, putting in the hours to make this thing a success. But the real question is – Is this something that the massess want, or will this become another piece of diregarded technology. It’s safe to say that everyone wants a phone that can do more than take phone calls. Text messaging has become more viable way of communicating. According to www.cellsigns.com, 79% of the...
