PTZ with AI? First Look: Iuzee 30X PTZ NDI Camera with AI
Last Updated on December 4, 2024 3:23 pm by Jeffrey Powers
In creating content, a good PTZ camera is a way to have movement when you don’t have a camera person to do it. The Iuzee 30X 1080p PTZ Camera has a lot of the features I look for in a camera, but does it really stack up to the production cameras I already own?
About the Iuzee Camera
The Iuzee 30X PTZ Camera is a solid built device, designed for not only smooth operation, but also integration into your studio setup. With a 350° horizontal and 180° vertical rotation, sets up to 255 camera presets, a web interface for easy control, and AI tracking capabilities, I am able to get this camera set up and ready for events fairly quickly.
Key Specifications
- Streaming Compatibility: Supports popular platforms like OBS, vMix, Facebook, along with hardware like BlackMagic, Tricaster, AJA, and more.
- Zoom Capabilities: With a 30X optical zoom and 8X digital zoom, the Iuzee camera lets you be in the back of larger stages, Houses of Worship, and more.
- Image Sensor and Noise Reduction: Equipped with a 1/2.8-inch sensor and 2D/3D noise reduction, the camera ensures sharp and clear visuals.
- Wide-Angle Lens: A 69.5-degree ultra-wide-angle lens offers expansive coverage.
- AI Auto-Tracking: This feature leverages image recognition to automatically follow subjects, with controls to switch who you follow.
- Connectivity Options: HDMI, SDI, USB, and IP/NDI|HX allows you to use for whatever system you have. Power over Ethernet (PoE) reduces cable clutter.
Performance
I was able to set up the camera for NDI, HDMI, and SDI use, along with sending video simultaneously to those sources. I can then use one source (NDI) to stream out the show, and another source (HDMI) to connect to an ATEM MINI to record ISO video.
With AI
The AI ability takes a little getting used to because it doesn’t produce clean video to any sources. Therefore, you must make the switch before the camera goes live in your stream.
Applications of the Iuzee
The versatility of the Iuzee 30X PTZ Camera makes it a valuable tool for a wide range of scenarios:
- Church Services: Place cameras out of the way to capture sermons from large halls.
- Educational Environments: Record lectures and classroom activities – with AI on to follow the presenter.
- Sports Events: Move across the field quick and easy, and even set presets so they can capture the score.
- Corporate Meetings: Can be set in the middle of a table, or on a wall to have office-to-office meetings and events
No Microphones Here
As I showed in the video, the sound is 3.5mm audio in and audio out jacks. There are no microphones on the camera itself – which I feel is a good thing because conference rooms usually have in-house sound, and other events usually rely on sound from audio boards.
Joystick or Stream Deck Available
Add in a PTZ Joystick for controlling the camera. You can also configure for Stream Deck through Companion. I show you how in the video.
Price and Availability
The Iuzee 30x PTZ Camera is available now for $699. There is also a 12x, a 20x and non-NDI models available starting at $329. (**Affiliate Links)
