Comma Openpilot is an Aftermarket Advanced Driver Assist for your Car
Comma AI Openpilot is a technology company that specializes in developing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for vehicles. This device is the brainchild of George Hotz. The Openpilot is an open source code with the Openpilot 3 hardware to give you added features you didn’t know your car had.
Comma AI’s flagship product is its comma three, a small device that can be installed in a vehicle to provide advanced driver assistance features. You can automate lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking – perfect for when you become distracted. The device uses a combination of cameras, sensors, and machine learning algorithms to interpret the road ahead and provide assistance to the driver.
I was pretty impressed that it can be installed in most vehicles 2016 or newer that has a functional power steering module. The retrofit is also not that difficult to do and you do not need to take it into the shop to do it. The end result is an advanced driver assistance, making the car safer and more convenient for your driving experience.
Even if you have driver assist hardware/software inside, you can install this unit to replace. The group has even installed this in a Tesla, and found their system performs better.
Additionally, the device is constantly learning and improving through its use of machine learning algorithms, meaning that it will become even more advanced over time.
