We all have our hobbies. Some people relax by playing video games, for others gardening is a great way to pass the time. Binge watching your favorite Netflix series in one sitting is a good choice too. The Slow Mo Guys? They like to do things like deploying airbags in microwave ovens. To each their own.
Sure, it is fun to destroy things, but this is also for science. They wanted to capture the destruction at 2,000 frames per second to see exactly what happens. We all love to watch things getting demolished, right? Of course we do. But also science! So what did their “research” find? Well, it is pretty much what you would expect. The first microwave gets destroyed, while second microwave’s door shoots off like a missile, launched by some deadly Hot Pocket full of gunpowder. All I can say is, they were lucky that they didn’t break any windows or have parts shoot through someone’s house.
So what can we learn from this? Well, obviously it is a dangerous bit of fun, but I think the main takeaway is to never ever deploy an airbag in your microwave. Not that I can think of a reason that you would.
