DoublePoint Turns Your Smartwatch into a Mouse
Last Updated on January 16, 2025 11:34 am by Jeffrey Powers
At CES 2025, DoublePoint unveiled an app that transforms smartwatches into gesture-controlled devices that can control your screens like a computer mouse. Designed for both Apple and Android watches, DoublePoint lets you manage your tech with the flick of a finger—no touchscreens, remotes, or voice commands required.
DoublePoint: Gesture Control Made Simple
The core of DoublePoint is its ability to detect subtle hand movements using the IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) built into most smartwatches. By tapping your fingers or waving your hand, you can skip songs, adjust volume, flip through slides, or even control a connected computer.
It’s intuitive, fast, and doesn’t require a learning curve. Best part, it turns your watch into a virtual mouse.
Cooking dinner allows you to page through the recipe hands-free. You can be a small distance away from the computer, so no need to walk up just to hit “Enter” or click next.
And as a musician, there are many times where I need to flip pages or scroll down to see lyrics and notes. This could change how I do that.
How DouplePoint Works
Simply download the software, then go in the watch to accept Bluetooth devices. The QR code will take you to the phone where you can find out how to pair.
Which Watches will DoublePoint Work On?
Amazingly enough, there are a lot of them. From Apple Watch 5 and above, Samsung Watch 4 (and above), Google Pixel Watch 2 /3, and Tic Watch. All of these watches have the sensors to utilize.
The app’s simplicity doesn’t mean it skimps on features, though. It supports a wide range of devices, from laptops to smart TVs, and can integrate seamlessly with existing ecosystems like Apple’s and Samsung’s. It’s also lightweight, meaning it won’t drain your smartwatch’s battery or hog its processing power.
