There was a lot to see at the Gibson booth for CES 2015. Aljon Go and I talked about the 2015 Les Paul line, now its time to continue to the holobody and acoustic guitars.
ES-Les Paul 2015
Aljon first showed us the ES Les Paul guitars. Manufactured in Memphis, TN, this holobody has all the great features of a Les Paul with that deep-wood sound. Humbucker pickups, low profile frets and rolled neck bindings, this guitar will give you a sound and feel no matter what type of music your playing.
Epiphone Gary Clark Jr Casino Model
Gary Clark Jr has a blues sound that brings old and new blues together. He has been playing Epiphone holobody Casino guitars for years – so Gibson decided to honor the artist with his own “Casino” model.
The Epiphone Gary Clark Jr. Casino Black and Blu model is a maple 5-ply guitar with Gibson USA P90 pickups in the holobody archtop style. With 22 medium Jumbo frets and a SlimTaper D profile, this guitar screams a dirty blues style. Add the Bigsby B70 Vibrato to take that sound even further.
This guitar will be available in spring.
Epiphone Pro-1 Line
Finally, we looked at one of the Pro-1 Acoustics for those just starting out in playing guitar. The Pro-1 is a Mahogany body with spruce top, 20 “JumboPro” fretboard with a rosewood bridge. This starter guitar is all about comfort so you experience less fatigue to keep playing. The easy action with the dual action truss rod allows you to adjust the neck in both directions so you can set the guitar up for whatever playing style you need.
