Polkast: Your Personal, Self-Controlled Cloud – CES 2012
Last Updated on February 23, 2024 11:26 am by Jeffrey Powers
We checked out Polkast at CES. This is a new P2P approach to self controlled file access. Your files are stored on your PC, or a series of computers. Maybe it’s not even on a PC. Anything in your network, or on mobile devices.
The software catalogs and indexes your devices by downloading and installing the software. Polkast then creates a list you can call up on any of your devices.
On local networks, files transfer at 10x the speed to computer. Find the iOS and Android apps in the app store for catalog. Service is free if you have a single device. If you have multiple devices, $4.99 a month.
