TechCrunch Disrupt 2012 Hackathon
This year I got to spend time with the hackers at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2012 hackathon. Hundreds of coders got together – some didn’t even know each other until this afternoon – to make the next big program.
I got to talk to a lot of great start ups. This includes Snowshoe, a company that comes from Madison, WI (my hometown). I know about their product and was really excited to hear they are pitching tomorrow in the hackathon.
Another group of coders were making a system to replace those discs you get at a restaurant with an app on your smartphone. When your table is ready, you get a signal to come up to the front counter.
There was even a group that was using margaritas for a drinking game.
It was a very fun time and I got to meet a lot of great people. Tomorrow’s hackathon might turn out to be the best one yet!
