HP – Hewlett Packard: Started in a one-car garage in Palo Alto, CA by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard in 1939. Since then, HP has grown to one of the largest IT companies in the world. HP created one of the most used calculators, then the Laser printer in the 80’s. Known for dominating the office and home printer and scanner market, HP has also been in the desktop, notebook and now tablet markets. HP acquired some big names in computers, including Compaq in 2001, DEC, EDS, 3Com and finally Palm in 2010.
HP Server infrastructure has grown through time, also. Currently, HP’s Converged Infrastructure brings many areas of IT together. Their Flex Network works in connecting larger campuses together. They even have POD services to place a server room where you need it for however long you need it.
Fun Fact on HP
Since Steve Wozniak worked at HP in the 70’s, he had to give HP first refusal to any project. He showed them the Apple computer and they chose not to use the idea.

TCO stands for Total Cost of Ownership. One of the big points at the HP Technology Forum was how much money you can save if you update your servers.
