7 Inch $50 Tablet Throwdown: Amazon Fire, RCA Voyager, ProScan 7

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSGood tablets are getting more affordable and very useful. Amazon launched the Fire 7 inch tablet in their line of Fire products. While a great tablet, I had to wonder how this stacked up to other $50 7 inch tablets. Therefore I found two tablets you might see during your holiday shopping. The RCA Voyager tablet from Walmart and the ProScan tablet which you can find in many different stores. Keep in mind these are not HD resolution tablets and will show slower results than a Fire HD or iPad Air. Nonetheless, these affordable tablets could become second tablets for some and replace laptops for others. Amazon Fire 7 Inch Tablet The Fire 7 inch has a screen resolution of 1024×600 (also known as WSVGA). The Fire is a Quad-Core ARM Cortex A7 processor at 1.3 GHz, and a Mali-450 GPU....

Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu Plus – the Throwdown

This week, Amazon mentioned they may be raising the yearly fee by up to $40. This would make the Amazon Prime service $120 a year, or about $10 a month. Netflix and Hulu Plus have their service for $8 a month. While Amazon offers more to their Prime service, is it worth keeping with the price increase. Better yet, if you only had $10 / month to spend on a service, which one would you buy? The Good and Bad of Netflix Netflix has a streaming service and a DVD rental service. They used to be one entity, but were split into two, with hopes to sell the DVD rental side. Once Qwikster fell apart, the company focused on the streaming — especially TV shows. Netflix is great for TV enthusiasts and kids. There are a ton of shows they can watch over and over again. I have...

Take Your Kindle In the Bathtub using the M-Edge Guardian Waterproof Case – CES 2010

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSS When Todd Cochrane was talking to Devin about M-Edge, I sat there wondering why you would want to bring a Kindle in the tub. But as I listened I realized how much the M-Edge Guardian is needed for the Kindle. It’s more than just the Bathroom for this device. If it does fall in, the M-Edge Guardian floats your Kindle to the top so you can scoop it out and continue reading.
