Internet Explorer: “We’re Number Two”

Firefox has passed Microsoft’s Internet Explorer in browser usage in Europe. From the San Jose Mercury-News’s Silicon Valley dot com: Breaking a decade of global dominance, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer in December lost its spot as the browser with the majority of page views in the United States and surrendered its long-held place to Mozilla’s Firefox as Europe’s most popular browser, according to data released Tuesday by the web analytics firm StatCounter. The story goes on to point out that Firefox has not so much gained as Internet Explorer has waned, saying that Firefox has remained flat and the big gains have been by Apple’s Safari and Google’s Chrome. I suspect that much of this has been fueled by the sales of Apple’s iGadgets, which would naturally boost Safari usage, as the iPhone and iPad include Safari as the default browser. TechPodcasts CES: Partner with Us for Live Stream Coverage of CES 2011!

CES 2011 is just around the corner. Of course, we at the Techpodcasts Network have a great opportunity as we are Live Streaming the whole weekend. A crew of a dozen will descend on Las Vegas in January to record all the cool new items. However, this year we will be able to bring it back to home base – 35176 of South Hall Upper level. This is a humongous undertaking. Because of this, we are looking for companies to partner with to make this show happen. This is the opportunity of the new year that will deliver millions of impressions to those companies that we team up with. If you are a company looking to make an impression, or if you know of a company that is looking for opportunity, then being a part of the CES11 will be a great way to jumpstart anything. Check out the Tech Podcast Network...

Ramblings – 1-03-08 – Before Vegas

Well, it’s 2 days away. I fly out to the Consumer Electronics show. It’s a very interesting time for me and even now I am anxious about the trip. Still looking for Sponsors, so if you have a product you want to promote, let me know and we’ll work out the details. I get into Vegas around 11 AM. Podcast will be done from Vegas (still need to find a good headset mic). The LIVE Show, though is still on. We have 2 great Panelists and will talk some great tech. If you haven’t watched the video from last week with Rob Greenlee from Zune and Gary Leland from Podcast Pickle, then you are missing out. It was a great 2 1/2 hour show.

This week we had a lot of “Sold to this Date” stories on the 31st. Of course it makes sense – you have to show some justification or brag about how many Vic-20’s you sold to date. I know I would. It doesn’t mean there is a lot of Good History here. Bill Gates Anniversary, Jobs and Wozniak form Apple, Coleco sells the Adam line. I could go on and on, but then you would have no reason to catch the Quickcast. Therefore, here is the audio of the show.
