Google started in the late 90’s as a search engine. Since then, it has grown into one of the biggest companies in the technology field. Google continues to expand their google search, Chrome browser, gmail and more. They have an open office in docs.google.com and help you connect via Google Voice. Chromium is Google’s newest project – a notebook running Google OS.
At the TechCrunch Winter Party that took place in San Francisco last week, there was a pinata bashing that signified the death of the much maligned awards show, The Crunchies, which after a decade of highs and lows has finally been shuttered by Verizon, TechCrunch’s new parent company. Launched in 2007 by legendary TechCrunch founder […]
You may or may not like your Internet speed right now, but in some areas, Internet is non-existant. We’re not talking 3rd World countries, either. There are many areas in the U.S. that also go with little to no signal for children trying to learn and grow. That is why Vint Cerf helped create the People […]
Trying the dual live stream today on Facebook and YouTube! For the most part it was successful, with a small audio glitch at the beginning. Glitch only happened for a few seconds, so I left it in the video part. Audio was cut. Panasonic created a device that can turn your body into a data […]
Google has separated Hangouts from Google+ and is planning to do the same with photos. Will YouTube be the next in this Exodus? Where does this leave the social Network Google+? In June of 2011, Vic Gundotra and crew debuted Google+ and the Google Hangout. A video conference service for up to 10 people to […]

Last week I was in New York for TechCrunch Disrupt. I got some great videos and tons of awesome footage of Times Square. However, when I returned my back decided to rebel from carrying 40 lbs throughout the city. Its been a tough weekend of recouping. Before the back siezed up I was able to […]
You might have heard the hate issues associated with Google Glass. Well I would like to tell you my story of how someone either put me down or caused physical violence – but I can’t. And I went to one of the most populated areas in the world. I thought for sure with my recent […]
I checked out Streambox, an alternate live stream service for those looking to stream an event. They have services for everyone from the podcaster to those expecting thousands of views. For simple streaming, Streambox has the iOS and Android app that can turn a phone or iPad into its own camera. Of course you can […]
If you are a musician that has tried to collaborate over the Internet, you know latency of a signal can kill the session. There are a few companies working on reducing latency – Source Elements is one of those companies. While you cannot do a live jam session without issue, you can do some pretty […]
What an awesome week in Austin TX for SXSW! Of course, we cannot forget the tragedy that followed the event this year. If that would have happened 24 hours earlier, I might have been part of it. That is how fragile life is. I took NAB off the schedule for now unless I find a […]
Lots to talk about on CES and the Downtown Las Vegas startup project that Tony Hsieh is working on. I will be going back to Vegas for Tech Cocktail next month, which already have plans to really rock it out. CES was another success as we pulled out about 250 videos. Now I have to […]
Today’s the day I get my Google Nexus 5. I also got the new iPad Air from Black Friday, which I went over on iPad365. Had some small audio issues with This Week in Google Glass, but otherwise the show went really well — talking about the Seattle restaurant that banned glass. Our TPN crowdfund […]
The first snow of the season hit Madison Monday. I actually had to break the shovel out – and Google Glass. Since the update to Google Hangouts, I thought I would try TWIGG as a hangout so you can watch live. Man – the problems I had with that… I am now a Helpouts mentor […]
Six years ago, I started a website called Geekazine. It’s six years later and I am still going! Spoke at UW Platteville on Google Glass. Was an awesome time learning about the entrepreneur program there. Last nights TWIGG was phenomenal with Chris Pick and seeing Glass v.2. We tried to figure out the differences, but […]
6th anniversary of the podcast is upon us! I started this show back in 2007 – named “The Show”. Fourth pair of Google Glass is going back to Google. This time, the camera died. I talk about it on TWIGG. My EmpireAvenue account is at 112 but more interesting is the numbers watching and listening […]
Was proud of iPad365 – not only on “New and Noteworthy”, but also on “What’s Hot” in Technology. I broke down and joined Empire Avenue. My stock jumped to $58.51 in the first two days. Does that mean I’m rich? Spent the weekend relaxing – on Sunday we did Tandem Kayaking on Lake Monona. Not […]
It’s grilling season for me – inherited a gas grill that needed a little bit of TLC. The end result is I am grilling everything. No TWIGG this week, next week Kathi Browne will be joining us. I will be trying out Google Hangouts Live Q&A to see how this will play into future recordings. […]
Laid back week this week. Finally tested out my Google Glass with the band – the packing tape over the power button seems to be working! We’ll see what happens over the next couple weeks, although its getting colder here (a actually had to pull out a jacket today!) Last nights’ TWIGG was an awesome […]
On Monday, I helped my brothers rebuild the back porch and access ramp so my Dad can come home from the nursing home. Of course we decided to do it on one of the hottest days in the summer. Today, I hurt! I did record TWIGG last night but was too exhausted to post, so […]
Last week I was on a one-day contract. I’m back this week with another great show! You might notice a small difference on the video as I decided after 3 years to change up the beard. Let me know what you think! Day in Tech History had a brute force attack over the weekend. It […]
I put together a panel for SXSW on podcasting. I need your help in getting it accepted. Please vote here. New TWIGG this week as we talk about cops wearing glass and referees wearing glass. Band played twice on Saturday, which really makes for a fun Sunday. Hotline – 608-205-4378 – geekazine (at) gmail.com Download […]
I have already gone through 2 pair of Google Glass. The first pair – the touchpad died. The second pair started acting wonky, but I believe it was a bad power button. Hopefully this pair won’t burn down, fall over then sink into the swamp. The RMA Process of Google Glass There are two ways […]
A few weeks ago, Google came out with their newest streaming media device in Chromecast. An HDMI dongle that plugs into the back of your TV to watch applications such as Netflix, YouTube and more. In the meantime, the Parks Associates just released a report stating Roku has 37% share to Apple TVs 24% in […]
I was interviewed on newspaper and TV this week for my Google Glass. Right after, the second pair broke. My diagnosis was a bad power button. Second pair off to Google. Also passed the 4 year mark on Day in Tech History. 1,500 episodes is coming up fast. Hotline – 608-205-4378 – geekazine (at) gmail.com […]
I was interviewed on WISC-TV 3’s and Channel 3000 about Google Glass. I sat with Michelle Li and we went over what Google Glass, how to use it, what to expect from it and more. Jennifer also helped out on the interview with a spouse’s insight. If you are wondering what Google Glass is, this segment […]
