Epiphan Interviews Me at NAB 2022
This last week I was at NAB 2022, getting interviews and first looks at products. I stopped by the Epiphan booth to learn more about their Unify system and Epiphan Pearl appliance. I was asked to do an interview, and so we made it into a dual interview.
I’ve used Epiphan hardware before. The Webcaster X2 has been in my gear for years now. But this new level of streaming with the Epiphan pearl really takes the remote experience to a new level.
My Interview
Within this video, you’ll get to find out what I used to capture NAB 2022, the live stream we did at Office Hours Global, and all the projects I have been working on. It was great to sit in the hot seat again with someone asking questions right next to me. I showed off my gear, as well.
Epiphan Interview
This was to find out more about the Epiphan Pearl and Unify systems. Jeremy was the Technical Director, and he was in Ottawa, Alberta Canada switching the show. Dan Wallace was on the floor, and they had 3 cameras, all connected to a Pearl for SRT. The system also allowed for video to come back at about a 1-2 second delay. It still gave me a confidence monitor to look at (in which I realized I set my gear in the way of the camera – oops).
We first learned about the Pearl mini at NAB a few years back. This all-in-one design is a switcher, recorder, streamer, splitter, and scaler. The Pearl nano connects up to 2 sources at 1080p, the Pearl Mini will give you 3 sources at 1080p, and the Epiphan Pearl-2 connects 6 sources in 1080p or 1 source in 4K.
