I Play the 3D Printed Steampunk Guitar – SXSW 2014
Last Updated on March 9, 2024 5:20 pm by Jeffrey Powers
a few weeks ago I saw this 3d printed steampunk guitar. I thought “man that would be cool to play…”
Well, I got my wish.
As I was passing by the 3D printing tent, I saw the steampunk beauty sitting I the stand. It was designed by Olaf Diegel of odd?org.nz. He has made a few guitars using 3D printing technology.
The guitar featured Seymour Duncan pickups and a Warmoth Pro telecaster neck. I wasn’t able to play it long because the tent didn’t have a music permit, but I was able to create a short song and play it on the guitar.
