If you are looking for a customizable keyboard for video, audio, or just to open your programs, X-Keys has been building configurable button racks for many years. I interviewed X-Keys over the years, and the products, while not stylish, are very functional and fully customizable.
PIE Rack System
Maggie showed us an updated PI Engineering rack, which can be completely customized to the producer. 5U rack system with a customizable keyboard layout that includes trackball, jog wheels, and more (faders available within the next year). New buttons available with acrylic print (or if you need to customize, get blank ones with stickers).
PIE Racks are fully customizable, so check in for pricing for your needs.
Jog & Shuttle 12
This is perfect for the video editor as you can move around buttons, and customize for whatever software you need for editing video, audio, and more.
The Jog & Shuttle 12 gives you 12 buttons to configure. Buttons can be back-lit if needed, and a perfect size to place next to the keyboard.
These unit do come with an SDK so you can create your own workflows easy.
Jog & Shuttle 12 is $219.95
XK-80 USB Keyboard
If you need a customizable keyboard with more buttons (and who doesn’t?), the 80-USB keyboard gives you more than enough space for buttons, joysticks, faders, and more. Complete with a kick stand to angle the unit to your fingers.
From 12 keys, to 60, 80, and even 120 key options, you’ll have a button system for your need.
Foot Pedals, Single Buttons
The fun doesn’t stop there. If you need a foot switch, a simple one-button task, and more, you’re good to go. You can even build your own with the X-Keys brain.
The unit itself has unlimited possibilities for whatever you need. You can even create a customizable gaming keyboard for game play.
