Short version: After what it described as a less-than-satisfactory experience with Silverlight last year, MLB is using Flash this year. MLB official Bob Bowman, CEO of Major League Baseball Advanced Media, was quoted as saying, in part, that Adobe is
“a company committed to the customer experience in video” and “a partner that continues to invest in their product.”
Microsoft responded with back-handed praise for the plugin that MLB uses, along with claims that Silverlight has achieved 50% market penetration and does better high-def.
Frankly, I wouldn’t know. Silverlight has achieved 0% penetration in my little world.
