LG’s Transparent Antenna Improves Car Reception at CES 2024
LG has joined forces with Saint-Gobain Sekurit, a leader in automotive glass solutions, to create a transparent antenna. The South Korean tech giant joined forces with Saint-Gobain Sekurit’s prowess in high-quality glass manufacturing to create this new technology for a better view, and easier looking windshield. The antenna will be shown off at CES 2024.
Older car antennas were lined around the glass. The transparent antenna is indistinguishable from the car window, as the antenna is interweaved within.

The new antenna technology significantly boosts in-vehicle connectivity. GPS navigation, mobile internet, or emergency services, the transparent antenna ensures a stronger and more reliable signal.
Best part is you don’t have a wire sticking out of your car to get damaged, or stolen.
I remember when I forgot to pull down my OnStar antenna at the car wash years ago. After the cycle was over, I had a broken antenna flapping in the breese, and a hefty bill to replace it.
The materials used in the transparent antenna are environmentally friendly, and the production process is designed to have a minimal carbon footprint.
