CES – Day 3
Wow, What a day. After 3 days of Grunting the floor, it really catches up to you. I feel good, but at the same time I am completely exhausted. I’m sitting at CNTR STG here which is a Blogger’s port put on by HP. Since the bandwidth at the Monte Carlo is horrible, we have to do our uploads here. I suppose it’s good because this is the place where I’ve met my fellow bloggers.
I did something a little different with the Back Channel as I used the X-shot to put the camera about 3 feet in the air. The result wasn’t too bad. I’ll try to get the video up ASAP, but I am still 2 days behind on that.
We started in the Central Hall where Microsoft, Intel and some of the biggest exhibits like Panasonic, NBC, Samsung all exist. There were some interesting presentations. Todd showed Andy the oLED monitors and the quality is just spectacular.
I interviewed Chumby, IOGear and Intel with the Gibson Self Tuning Guitar on the Primary Channel. I also got to interview Johnny Rabb – A Drummer that I have learned from as I was learning how to play. He was at the Roland booth displaying the TD-20. He tried a couple patterns and I thought it would be cool to mimick his playing. Boy was I wrong – but you can see that on the Primary channel.
Sony came out with the Webbie HD – a nice little camera for web work. Unfortunately, its not functional for much else, so that makes it a $200 web cam.
We sat down with Blue Microphones and talked about their products. They showed off the new mic which plugged into an iPod nano. It was a great little interview with the group and was awesome to meet the guys from Blue.
By 2:30 PM, I was cached. My feet hurt so much one of them fell asleep while walking. I shook it off though and kept going.
All in all it was an exhilarating day. I got some great interviews and also great backchannel. Todd, Andy and Andy also put out some awesome content. We have more video than ever before and really have captured the experience.
