No Kodak Zi12 PlayFul Dual as Kodak Discontinues Cameras 0

No Kodak Zi12 PlayFul Dual as Kodak Discontinues Cameras

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSS Over the weekend, we found out that Kodak was shuttering their digital camera side of Kodak. That means both the digital cameras and their digital video cameras are being discontinued. Which means there will be no Zi12 PlayFul Dual as we were anticipating later this year. This is a sad day – The Kodak Zi8 and Zi10 were staples in my bag. Now, with no additional upgrades, I will have to hold on to my cameras a little closer. You can check out my video on the comparison between the Zi8 and Zi10. Get Kodak Zi8 at Amazon I saw many reporters and bloggers with these cameras. Mostly because they were easy ways to record interviews, then use the recordings to write their articles. Some of them did post to YouTube. We even saw some very interesting camera rigs with...

HP’s Prith Banerjee Answers Bloggers Questions – #HPDiscover 2011

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSDuring the HP Discover event, Prith Banerjee came into the Bloggers Lounge to talk with the group and answer any questions we had. Prith talked about the new CEO Leo Apotheker and how that affects the Converged Infrastructure and Cloud initiatives. Some of the questions that were asked included what the plan for Memristor research is, what the staff at the Palm division is like and many more. Prith wanted to stress that even though there is a change in the administration, things will go forward as planned. Changes will be made only if technology makes it change. Thanks to Prith Banerjee for taking the time to talk with the Bloggers. Thank you to Calvin (@hpstorageguy) for additional video footage. Four Bloggers Walking Vegas Strip – Interop 0

Four Bloggers Walking Vegas Strip – Interop

I have been to Vegas before, but never really did the “tourist” thing. Bob, Greg and especially Aaron (who has never been to Vegas) wanted to walk around and see the sights. We started by going from Four Seasons, to the tram and to the monorail to about mid-point in Caesar’s Palace. We then walked back to Mandalay Bay, while seeing all the great images the strip had to offer. It was a fun time and even I got to see stuff I haven’t before.

Dallas Cowboys Use HP Servers: HP Proliant Day 1 0

Dallas Cowboys Use HP Servers: HP Proliant Day 1

It was a snowy day in Dallas, January 10th @ 5 AM and I just jumped off the plane from Vegas. With only 2 hours of Red-eye sleep, I head to the hotel where I get only 1 additional hour, followed by a long day in Texas. But it was worth it. Why was it worth it? We got to see one of the largest man-made structures in the world. The Dallas Cowboy stadium. When we got there with several bloggers in hand, Bill Haggard welcomed us to Dallas. He showed us around this behemoth of a football stadium, where we got to learn what it took to run. More important, we got to learn what was behind the scenes – computer-wise. That was HP. Duncan Campbell started the day as he talked about the Converged Infrastructure. He talked about how HP servers show cost reductions and work to...

#Bwe09 Day 2 – I got abducted…

This morning started late. For some reason (maybe the fact I didn’t sleep in 48 hours), I woke up at 10 AM. I don’t normally do that, but what is more interesting is I am in Pacific Time zone. So technically, I slept until noon. I got up, worked on some stats and headed off to the South Hall in Blogworld. I got registered and got a chance to really talk to some people. People like Hope from Windy city social and Rob Walch from Wizzard. Hope was very interesting for the short amount of time I talked with her. She shows me that no matter how many people say there are no more .com names, you can always find a .com to register. The most interesting point of the day, though was I met Marla from d-vin-ideas and Brett from Mashable. Marla asked me: “You wanna get...

Blogworld New Media Expo 2009 Day 1 0

Blogworld New Media Expo 2009 Day 1

The day was long, but well worth it. I got on a plane about 5:10 this morning. The flight would take me to Chicago, where I would have to wait until 8:11 to continue on. However, problems kept us in Chicago a little longer. The plane had some technical glitch that could be fixed by unplugging (something), then taking one from another plane. They kept saying it would only take a couple minutes. …Two hours later… We finally got underway after 10 AM. With a 2 hour time shift, that brought the plane in at about 11:45 AM. Got to the hotel, however, my credit card was not functioning. Apparently the card now wants me to call them and let them know I will be traveling. Not sure why I need a babysitter, but it was a minor setback. Took a walk around the hotel. Extremely close to...

Ramblings – 6-21-09 – Las Vegas

Day Off – Sort of A late Ramblings this week as I decided to stay offline last week. It was a long week and I was playing all weekend. It has been a while since I last took more than 24 hours off a computer, so that is a big feat for me. HP Tech Forum I had a fun time talking and working with Andy McCaskey and Kara Karsten with SDRNews. We had such a blast. We also put forward the mobile interview booth rig. We call it the “MacGyver” rig. Nonetheless, it was connected to uStream and we were able to conduct a few interviews for the event. Check out all the info on the Twitter log at #HPTF. Great to meet some new bloggers: Shane Pitman of Neowin, John Obeto of AbsoluteWindows. We had a great week along with Halley, Tom, Calvin and Rebecca from...
