Dan Lynch interviews Vinton Cerf – Founding Internet Father: Interop 2011
Last Updated on March 4, 2024 12:27 pm by Jeffrey Powers
It’s always a treat when you get to hear from one of the people that helped create the technology we use today. Vinton Cerf is one of those people. If it wasn’t for his efforts (along with Bob Kahn), we might not have the infrastructure that is around today.
Another legend in his own right, Dan Lynch is the founder of Interop, and in his own words, “Retired Bum”. The two sat down to talk technology, history and more.
Vinton talks about his time now at Google. He mentions how ambitious the kids there are. He concludes with “It is a good day for me if I can make two 26 year-olds tired”.
The two also discuss ARPANET. Vinton gives Dan a segment of the original cable on a plaque. Dan quips back by mentioning that he gave Vinton the segment to begin with.
The following is (what I feel) the best part of the keynote on Tuesday.
