Full Interview: Mark Zuckerberg, Michael Arrington

While at TechCrunch Disrupt, I got the opportunity to watch the fireside chat with founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and CrunchFund founder Michael Arrington. This is the first time Zuckerberg has spoken since Facebook went public (so when Facebook went public, Facebook went private). I have taken a few key moments out of the video for you. In Hindsight Would You Do Anything? We are going to do things we think to build value over the longterm. Over the next 3-5 years the biggest question on everyone’s minds is how well we do on mobile. We’ve been in this quiet period for the last 6 months since right up to we started the IPO. A lot of stuff has changed. 6 months ago on mobile, we launched our new set of apps, so we were still in a pretty bad place. Apple hadn’t announce the iOS integration and...

Did Microsoft Hit a Home Run with Surface Tablet?

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSContinuing on with new logos for the shows. iPad365 got updated last night. More updates coming. My 1 Share of Facebook Stock Came Today

Yes, last week, I bought 1 share of Facebook stock. The replica stock came in the mail today. I was pretty happy with the purchase, and I can say I was a first gen Facebook stock buyer. It’s all about novelty, but if this stock does well, novelty can turn to profit. Why I bought 1 share of Facebook Like I said on Geek Smack! last week – I bought it for novelty. I was too young to purchase Apple or Microsoft stock when they issued their IPO. I didn’t buy Yahoo! stock (thank god!) or Google stock when they filed. I didn’t even buy Packer stock yet. So when an event like Facebook has a stock offering, I decided to be a 1st Gen owner. The reality: I can lose $38. Actually, it was more for the replica piece of paper. But still – If this stock...

Why I Bought 1 Share of Facebook Stock

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSThese last few weeks have been pretty tough. Last week my back went out, so I did very limited work. This week, I had an anxiety attack – something I was told to expect with a Blood Pressure medication I have been taking. I am now at about 90%. I am hoping to re-start iPad365 on a few episodes a week. But we’ll see once I am done with Geek Smack! for today. BlogWorld & New Media Expo is only a week and a half away! I am putting together video for the show, and looking for people that are going. If you are, let me know and we’ll get on a Google Hangout to talk. I am also looking for writers to Geekazine. People who can write about the newest gadgets coming out. If interested, please email geekazine at gmail. Hotline...

Snoball: Donate to Non-Profit Charities by Setting Triggers – CES 2012

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSWesley Faulkner is the Digital Strategist of Snoball. He joined us on the TPN CES Live coverage to talk about this great website. Snoball is a great way to get donations to non-profit organizations. Log on to Snoball and set up a trigger to give money to an organization. Example: You can set a goal, and when you do, you can donate to a cause. So if so many people did this on social network (like on Facebook, checkin on Foursquare, Tweet with a hashtag), I could give X amount of dollars to my charity of choice. This also works with businesses – after so many Twitter follows, a business could donate to their charity. So many Yelp reviews, they donate. And if a Snoball goes viral, you can place a cap on your donations so you don’t give more than you can afford. There...

Kidzvuz: Child Safe Social Media Site – CES 2012

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSSRebecca Levey from KidzVuz joined the TPN CES Live show to talk about Kidzvuz. This is a safe environment for eight to ten year olds. Rebecca was a mommy blogger. As she reviewed, she thought – why am I reviewing the product? My kids should be doing that. However, young kids shouldn’t be on Facebook or YouTube like that. Therefore, she helped create KidzVuz. This is a completely moderated site where parents have control over what is sent across the network. Kids can then comment and make videos, just like adults do. KidzVuz also can teach parents about how they are sending their kids digital footprint across the internet. With KidzVuz, there is no identifyable information. They worked with Badgeville to put a competitive edge to the site. Kids that love to collect or build get excited about this site. LEGO and other building blocks....

Pioneer App Radio Connect Your Car with a Cool Stereo, Aha Radio – CES 2012

Podcast: EmbedSubscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | RSS At the TPN CES Live show, Harry Kroll from Pioneer Car Electronics joined Andy and Courtney. Harry talked about their new App Radio 2, which connects to iOS, and now Android devices. In dash car CD players with HD Radio, CD players and more. In-dash navigation systems, and of course, App Radio. A capacitive touch screen, with full function of your apps on a much bigger screen. Think of it like an emulator or a second screen for your smartphone. The interface will be almost identical to your device. A little bit of difference, but it’s your account, happening through your device – only amplified through the phone. Of course, you can’t open every app to App Radio. Pioneer works with certain companies to make the apps that you need to work with App Radio. There is an SDK available from Pioneer, so you...

Day in Tech History Has Moved. New Website, New Feel, Kickstarter 0

Day in Tech History Has Moved. New Website, New Feel, Kickstarter

Well, it’s been on my mind for the last few weeks. On October 1st, I pulled the switch and the Day in Tech History Podcast has officially moved to it’s own website. Now found at www.dayintechhistory.com – The move means a lot of new additions and opportunities. The first idea is I can move this past podcasts. Two weeks ago I started the Pre-Cap, which is a  roundup of the Tech History you will hear about during the week. This has a Share-Alike attribution, which means you can take this video and incorporate it into your videos as a segment. Secondly, I can bring on more bloggers that want to talk about historical events in technology history. We can also bring in video, pictures and more into their own categories – making this a fully rounded website. No Changes Necessary to the Day in Tech History for you!...
